Feedback from customers

October 11th, 2011

Howdy all.

We are heading into the busy ‘silly’ season and we are happy to say that we have some awesome SWAT Laser Tag events lined up till the end of the year. We will be hosting laser parties in places like Wellington, Slanghoek, Elgin and of course all over the beautiful Cape Peninsula.

We have been operating now for over a year and I have decided that it is time to share some positive feedback that we have been getting from our satisfied clientele. This is by no means a brag session – it is just a thumbs up to the entire SWAT Laser Tag Team for all their hard work and effort in ensuring that everyone who plays laser tag with us leaves with a smile on their dial, fond memories and expectations to return in the future. This is for you guys – well done!

Just want to say a huge THANK YOU for a stunning afternoon this past Saturday – the Sunningdale City U13s had an absolute blast and the parents enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and stunning weather. The 16H30 – 18H30 time was absolutely perfect as we missed the worst of the heat and yet did not have to rush to get things done.

Thanks guys for an enjoyable experience.

 Regards

Tony

Hi Don

Thank you and your team for a great party on Saturday. Joshua and his friends had a blast, and I heard more than once that “this is the bomb”. Next year I think we’ll do your range at Melkbos.

Regards

Lorraine

Hi Don

Just to say thanks for the party yesterday.  The boys had a ball.  Have included some photos for you.

Thanks again

Anne

Hi Don

Despite the rain all turned out well and the kids and a great time, even in the wet

Your guys were fantastic in accommodating us, I can really commend them for their friendliness, helpfulness and patience in negotiating the weather challenges!

A few pics attached of the day – my son, one of his tomboy little girl friends getting in on the action with loads of attitude (only 4 years old!), plus me and another of the little tomboys who joined in (one of your guys jumped into the pic behind us with the guns! )

Thanks again, I think all these kids will be wanting laser tag at their birthdays!

 Kind regards,

Vashti

Don

As mentioned earlier, Gareth did a great job with the boys and they thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. They were all happily exhausted by the time that we left.

Thanks

Truia

Hi there

Just a short note to thank you and your guys for a great party on Saturday.  Although it was a small group Chloe and her sister who’s 14 and all the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  My husband and I have been extremely busy over the last month, so it was great to just leave it up to you guys!

 Tx a mil

 Regards

 Tracy

Anyways, that all is for now. We do appreciate feedback – the good, the bad and the downright ugly, so please feel free to drop us an email at anytime.

Have a great October – Beer Fest month!

Ciao,

Don

At long last – Spring!

September 6th, 2011

It is hard to believe that my last update was way back in June. A lot has happened in the last 2 months and we have been so busy running laser tag events across the Cape Peninsula that we have not even had time to reload. We have been hard at it and the weekends have been full of adrenaline packed action and hard fought laser combat challenges. We have run 2 very successful laser tag open days at our Melkbos premises and have another planned for the upcoming school holidays next month October – watch this space!

We have been operating for just over a year now and we are happy to say that this awesome new laser tag technology has been well received and really put through its paces. The equipment has proven to be reliable, robust and so simplistic to use that even some 6 year old cadets have had fun and been competitive against some older siblings and friends. Unfortunately we still feel it best to keep our minimum age at 8, so as to protect the integrity and popularity of the SWAT laser tag experience.

We have also been doing some hard work at our home range in Melkbos and it is always nice to see how some old faces from last year are pleasantly surprised by the ‘home improvements’ that we have been doing. We are currently busy with our second concept field and this one is going to be a cracker – shanty style theme with buildings to hide in and obscure places to hide. Our bush field has also been getting a make over and as soon as the farmer gives us permission to put some structures on his land we will be adding to the West Coast bush veld.

On the Paintball side of our business we have also seen some steady growth and have found that the laser tag events and paintball events run very well together and compliment each other 100%. SWAT Laser Tag is a far more ‘sneaky sneaky’ type of game play, whereas paintball is in your face and aggressive. They say opposites attract – we agree. We expect to see many of our younger laser players on the paintball fields once they are old enough to handle the impact and fear factor that paintball invokes in all players. We say bring it on – the more the merrier! It is worth noting that we ran a paintball event last month for our friends in the SANDF at Wingfield Military Base. The 3 Para Battalion did some training exercises and it was awesome to see our parabats in action. They ran 2 exercises – a rescue operation and then a seek and destroy. These guys are very good at what they do and I would not like to be on the receiving end when these guys are called in. I have posted some pics below – they kindly gave us permission to use some photo’s on our website. Also be sure to check out our paintball website: www.wcpb.co.za for recent updates and upcoming events.

Anyways, that is all for now and we wish everyone a happy Spring and may the last quarter of this year be a good one!

Ciao for now

Don

P.S.  Some random pics below of the last few months.

Kraaifontein gets a taste of SWAT Laser Tag

June 9th, 2011

Next on our agenda was a mobile laser event held on a smallholding on the outskirts of Kraaifontein. This event ran very smoothly and the dad went out of his way on the day to ensure that the youngsters had sufficient firing cover and a decent combat area to play on.

On this note it is important that parents who are planning a laser combat birthday party at their own venues, choose an area that is sufficiently large enough with enough cover available to ensure that a good laser combat challenge is held on the day. Our laser guns have a range of over 100 meters so space is a key element in hosting an enjoyable, competitive event. We are able to erect our own mobile artificial field but this is an extra expense that is very often not necessary, if there is a close by area/field/forest that can be used for the day, let us know and we will explore the area. See pics below of how this event played.

An Awesome SWAT Laser Tag B-Day event – Constantia Greenbelt

June 9th, 2011

Howdy there! Time for another event update. We have been getting more and more queries from our Southern Suburb friends in the beautiful Mother City regarding birthday bookings for that someones special day. We understand that it is a somewhat daunting task to arrange birthday parties – let alone arrange for transport from the Southern suburbs to our closest permanent venue in Melkbos on the Atlantic seaboard for all the eager troops. So to make life easier for parents who reside on the other side of the ‘boerewors curtain’ we have been going mobile and hosting many awesome laser combat challenges in and around the Constantia greenbelt areas since September 2010. These areas are truly beautiful and we make 100% sure that we leave nothing but footprints behind. Due to the fact that laser games is non-invasive with minimum noise we have been well received by the residents who see this activity as fun and safe for the kids.

We have been getting more and more queries from parents to bring the laser combat challenges to their own residences/venues and we have seen and been to some spectacular areas of the Cape peninsula. We recently held a laser tag challenge in Constantia greenbelt area for 20 troops and boy did these young ‘troops’ have a blast. It was one of our best events yet, with both sides showing grit, guts and determination whilst battling it out for glory. It was a very close affair but birthday boys team finally won the day – by the narrowest of margins. See pics below (pics were kindly donated by the Dad)

Upcoming events – May/June

May 9th, 2011

Ahoy – Don here again. I am sure that you have all had an absolute great Easter and holiday season, but time to get back to reality right! Oh well, holidays will come and go but one thing is for sure – there is always another one on the sunny – or gloomy depending on your mood – horizon.

We have some cool, fun events coming up that i thought i would mention. First event is an open day event at Kirstenhoff Primary School. We were contacted by the Parents Body to host a laser combat challenge in the Kirstenhoff School Hall on May 28th, as part of their Social and Fun day. SWAT Laser Tag will be there from 11h00 sharp to entertain and thrill the kids that will be there on the day. I am told that there will be plenty of activities and fun things for the kids to do so look forward to taking part and making the social day one to remember. Pics to follow next month.

Also on the horizon is the Wacky Wine Weekend Festival being held just outside Robertson on June 3rd and 4th. We have been invited to be there as an activity the whole day on Saturday 4th June by Wandsbeck Wines. These guys are really going all out and they have planned a fun filled day for all their patrons – both young and old. (See event schedule below).

We will be erecting our artificial laser combat field and look forward to some fast paced and competitive laser challenges from the ‘troops’ that play on our course. There is lots more going on at the festival so if you in the area please pop by and come say howzit.

Last but not least is an awesome paintball event coming up on June 5th. This one is going to be huge and just about every paintball player looks forward to this one. This paintball event is to honour the concept of freedom and is a re-enactment of the infamous D DAY struggle and the battle that ensued on the beaches of Normandy on June 6th 1944. There will be well over 200 paintball players either playing as the German or Allied forces. With heavy gunners, surreal paintball terrain and an electric atmosphere, this event is guaranteed to get the blood and pulse racing. I will definitely post pics after the event. Remember, for all you paintball freaks out there, be sure to visit our paintball website at www.wcpb.co.za for updates and upcoming events!

That is all from my side for now guys!

All the best

Cheers,

Don

April Update.

May 3rd, 2011

Aloha! Hope this finds you all well and happy. Much has been going on in our neck of the woods over the 1st quarter of 2011. Eish, May already – we have had so much fun time has just flown by. SWAT laser tag has hosted many awesome laser tag events all over the Western Cape the last few months and all the groups have been terrific.

In our efforts to be fully 100% mobile and take the laser games to the people, we have visited some beautiful places in our lovely Province and I am amazed at how many little gems we have in our own backyard……from Grabouw to the West Coast, we truly do have it all!

Many birthday parties, corporate events, bachelor parties etc have come and gone so far this year but one thing remains the same – ALL our players have left with a smile on their dial and plans to revisit us again in the future. After only 8 months in business we are satisfied that the player is getting real value for money and that the ‘fun factor’ is realised and enjoyed by all – from 8 year old ‘Jonnie’ to 80 year old Gran and Gramps. The laser guns have proven to be of excellent quality and apart from a few minor glitches all is running smoothly. The laser guns are CONFIRMED very accurate up to 100 metres ( 150 meters + at night) and darn robust – to be able to cope with the young cadets handling the laser guns on the combat field and in the bush they have to be!! We have also dropped our minimum age to 8 as we have found  that the laser guns are suitable for the little chaps as well.

Another item worth mentioning is that the Paintball section of our business has also seen some good growth and we have been able to invest in improving our SWAT Laser Tag and West Coast Paintball premises. All these efforts only enhance your laser and paintball experience – so for those of you who keep coming back for more, expect to see some cool changes and additions to our current Laser and Paintball Combat Field in Melkbos on the West Coast over the next few months. To visit our West Coast Paintball website click here

That is all from my side for now! Take care and we hope to see your friendly faces in the near future!

Ciao,

Don

Laser goes mobile

March 15th, 2011

Well it has been a long while since my last update – truth is we have been very busy running laser games all over the Cape Peninsula and Durban since schools went back and life returned to normal. We have hosted many fantastic laser game bookings this year at both our Cape Town and Durban venues, as well as playing at many new venues in and around the Cape Town peninsula. Last weekend we were lucky enough to host an event for a young girls party in the beautiful Steenberg Golf Estate and the girls had an absolute blast. Due to the flat terrain on offer we had to erect our mobile field so as to offer the girls ample cover to hide behind. We also use this field for mobile paintball events and it does offer a great player experience. See pics below.

2011 kicks off at Helderberg Farm

January 17th, 2011

Now that the festive season is done and dusted and most of us are returning to ‘reality’, we have been getting a steady stream of queries from folks planning that special day for their kids. We kicked off the 2011 season with a little ice breaker at our Somerset West venue – the Helderberg Farm. This 350 year old farm is stunning, well organised and the farmer there – Wimpie – runs a host of activities to cater for everyone’s needs – no matter what age or gender.

The weather was perfect and as usual the forest that we utilise was great fun and played very well. The enthusiastic cadets had lots of hiding places, vantage points and tricks up their sleeves. It was a close fought affair with birthday boy’s team narrowly winning the laser combat challenge on the day. All in all a great day out on the farm and an awesome way to kick off the New Year. See the pics below.

Take care and we hope to see you at one of our laser tag venues soon.

Ciao,

Don
